A beautiful hand carved set of matched hardwood doors from the Kayan artists of Kalimantan. High relief guardian figures seem alive as they pull their hands and feet from the apparently plastic surface of the mother planks. Swirling Kenyah-Kayan motifs adorn the upper and lower ends of each door and each intertwined mass is centered around a large inset spiral shell disk. These are classic Dayak motifs and are seen on long house doors of high ranking individuals.
Display this set on the walls bordering an entrance or interior door. Or use them as actual doors for that inner sanctum, private office, or conference room. Huge, heavy, dynamic - these doors will leave no space unaffected.
NB: each door weighs well over 50 pounds.
